Blogfest Wrap-Up!

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by the blog this weekend! And extra thanks for all the comments! You guys are great!

I also wanted to welcome all the new followers to the blog! I'm only five three away from 100 now, and it seems like 100 followers is some kind of milestone, requiring some kind of contest or celebratory giveaway or blogfest around these parts, or something? I mean, I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone...

I am NEARLY back to myself again, but this week I am still on wrist-probation, so I'm supposed to not be writing yet. I'll let you all know how that goes, I'm sure. (hint: not well, now that I'm feeling better! Lugh is making a nuisance of himself, which is even MORE of a nuisance because I'm supposed to be working with Helen and Theseus this month.)

So, now that those other blogfests are behind us, let me give you a quick peek at what lies ahead!

There are four blogfests upcoming:
Now, I'm not sure I'll be participating in absolutely all of them, but I thought you'd like to be informed! And I'm for sure, for sure going to be participating in the first two, because I'm dying to make someone bake. Eve already does, of course, and she's quite good at it, but I have a feeling it would be more entertaining to see someone else attempting to do so... Does pizza-making count as baking? The sad thing is, I'm afraid that most of my characters are pretty proficient cooks. When you're immortal, or constantly being reborn, there probably aren't a lot of things you can't do reasonably well.

Feel free to plug any blogfests I missed in the comments! It's good to know about these things. And again, thank you so much to everyone for all your comments this weekend. It really was great to hear your thoughts! It was a great way to end a hard week.

Be sure to leave your suggestions for what should happen when I reach the big 1-0-0 in the comments, and let me know if there are any topics you'd like to see me cover in the near future!

  1. Congrats on the almost 100! That's totally awesome!

As for future posts, I'd like to know what got you started writing on the topics of Eve and the Greeks. Just curious!

  3. Thanks Stephanie-- who knows though, it could be weeks before I finally get those final three followers :) And I will definitely put together a post for you on that. I think I've answered it indirectly, but that was a long time ago.

Iapetus: That's an awesome page! I will keep an eye on it!

  4. You're so close! I just hit 100 over the weekend, but I sat at 98 for a week and thought it would never happen. :) You'll get there.

Thanks for mentioning the blogfest--and pizza counts! I titled it baking, but really any cooking qualifies. I should probably clarify that on my blog...*wanders off to make a note of that*

  5. Woo! for some reason my characters like to make a lot of pizza. I think maybe because it gives everyone something to do in the kitchen? I'm excited for your blogfest! I think I might even write something new! an idea is forming as we speak--unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Helen... gah! Stupid Thor. Invading everything! ahem. Yay blogfests!

  6. Congrats on your near 100 followers! I, too feel like 100 is a landmark, but there are so many contests these days, I'm searching for a more unique way to celebrate while still rewarding the best of the best. :)

Sorry to hear you're still on enforced writing hiatus. I can imagine how frustrating it must be. Can you make Lugh speak into one of those micro-recorders? I use one occasionally for notes when a pad and paper aren't feasible.

Thanks for the blogfest update. Haven't decide which to participate in yet, although a couple of them are VERY intriguing. Still have to see where time and imagination lead me.

  7. VR: The baking one is calling my name. for sure. I know exactly what I'm going to write for it. well, maybe exactly is an overstatement, but you know what I mean!

While I do talk to myself/Lugh/Thor/Adam a lot, I can't stand listening to my recorded voice, so while I might make the notes, I'd then cringe to hear them played back. haha.

Let me know what you come up with for a celebration! I'm trying to decide what I want to do too. I think it is going to have to be something creative, somehow, with a reward, but I'm just not sure what...

  12. There, I got you to 99! I am only getting started. I tend to concentrate more on writing and researching my novel. I could use some more followers. http://yourjen.blogspot.com/

Thanks and good luck getting that last follower!
