I don't have words to describe the feelings of relief flooding through me now that I have finally gotten Chapter Five to its proper and most glorious place.
I may even celebrate by reading the next Percy Jackson book tomorrow!
Do you treat yourself to anything when you conquer a stubborn chapter?
And don't forget to subscribe to THE AMALIAD, to stay up to date on Authors!me. Or become a Patron of my work over on Patreon!
You know, I haven't treated myself to anything yet, but I really should. I suspect I'll have to treat myself to something massive once I finally finish my book this month!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what that treat will be.
And how could I forget? Congrats on finishing the chapter revision! I know how good it feels to finish something that's been nagging at you for far too long. Keep up the awesome work!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely will have to treat yourself to something!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks! I'm SO STOKED about how this revision is working itself out.
Chapter? No. Challenge? Yes.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if I finished chapters I would certainly reward myself. I just haven't finished one since high school.
I think that your new Chapter 5 rocks.
Yay!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... Does wine count? I plan to buy a really expensive bottle when I land my dream agent!
Sqrt(D): Chapters are challenges too! and Thanks! me too :)
ReplyDeleteStephanie: I think wine definitely counts! I mean people treat themselves with champagne to mark special occasions!
Well done on your chapter revision, Amalia! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do treat myself, but I don't call it that. It's all part of the process. Once I finish a revision, a little distance is required before I give it a final read. So what if I slip in novel, a bottle of wine, or a couple of hours wiling away on the internet while I'm waiting? :)
Congrats on the chapter five. As for treating myself, I usually allow for some slack time in front of the tv before I dive back into my novel.

No, but I'm thinking I should. Maybe in honor of Valentine's day I'll give myself a big box of chocolates and reward myself with one each time I edit a chapter. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I like Karen's idea. Maybe I'll go buy a box of See's California brittle and every time I accomplish something I pop on in. Of course that will mean an extra hour on the treadmill each week. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteVR: Thanks! And yeah-- My process is full of little breather spaces where I may read a chapter of a book or spend some time facebooking.
ReplyDeleteChristie: we all need a little time to kick back in between chapters!
Karen and Girl with One eye: That sounds like a thoroughly enjoyable motivator! Unless your box of chocolates is full of those gross fruit-cream varieties. I'm a fan of the labeled chocolates, as opposed to the "surprise" boxes.
