Head over to GeekaChicas for the next installment of the Not-Yet-Of Troy letters! A set between Theseus and Pirithous.
Pirithous kind of strikes me as the friend that always kind of gets you into trouble, or comes up with the harebrained schemes and expects you to go along with it. I think his heart was in the right place, but maybe he was kind of an adrenaline junky, or at the least, loved to take a little bit of risk. Like, if there wasn't some risk, or some terrible way it could go wrong, it wasn't worth doing.
Happy day before Thanksgiving!

I love the letters! I'd never really thought of Theseus being that entranced with Helen- that's a whole new layer to the guy!
ReplyDeleteAs for secondary characters outgrowing my plan for them, yes, I've had that happen. There's one, maybe two characters, who did that in Hatshepsut and I've already had one character pop up in Book #2 that wants more attention. I just write the stories- I'm not always in charge!
Haha! I know how you feel-- I definitely haven't felt like I've been in charge.
ReplyDeleteTheseus's whole life is just tragic. I wish I could soften the blows for him somehow...
I'm glad you're enjoying the letters so much! I'm tempted to rewrite the book through letters when I start revisions to Helen.
